Sir Richard II Hankford (c.1397-1431)〔GEC Complete Peerage, vol.V, pp.505-6, (Baron FitzWarin)〕 was ''jure uxoris'' feudal baron of Bampton and baron of part of the feudal barony of Barnstaple, in Devon. ==Origins== He was the son of Richard I Hankford (d.1419),〔GEC Complete Peerage, vol.V, pp.504-5, (Baron FitzWarin)〕 MP for Devon in 1414 and 1416,〔http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/hankford-richard-1419〕 the son of Sir William Hankford (ca. 1350 – 1423) KB, of Annery in Devon, Chief Justice of the King's Bench from 1413 until 1423. As Richard I had predeceased his own father, Richard II became heir to his grandfather Sir William Hankford on his death in 1423.
